Ginny’s Gleanings: Fall is a welcome change after the brutal summer of heat; the hottest ever! The coin shows have been hot, too, which is a good thing. The dealers are happy and the collectors are finding the material they need. Michael’s Musings: Opening a huge shout out to retiring TCN Editor Gregory S. Burns. Thanks for two decades of outstanding journalistic service! best wishes always! Now, these reports are shorter/fewer since lacking coverage from the local coin clubs around Northern California. Need those newsletters/bulletins in hard copy. I receive so much, too much, via emails, that much, I mean much, is simply lost and deleted. Have heard that there is a Merced Coin Club; is this a new coin club or the Gateway Coin Club resurrected? Also, it seems that Liberty Numismatic Society, of Millbrae, has ceased to meet and to even maintain communication with its members and other local coin clubs. Fremont Coin Club meets only once a month nowadays, and its Double Eagle has not been issued in years. Alameda Coin Club does meet in-person and via Zoom, but I have had very little to report from these two latter local coin clubs. Again, I welcome contacts at EMPERORI@juno.com.
